The prayer walk dubbed, ‘Come walk N pray 4 Peace’ has been organized by Christian Women of Kenya led by Mama Adah Adoyo and Project Hannah Kenya, A ministry of Trans world Radio Kenya.Speaking about the upcoming event, Bernice Gatere, Director, Trans world Radio Kenya,emphasized on the ministry’s role of preaching the gospel and called on more to join the walk. “TWR is a global media ministry whose mission is to reach people through teaching and preaching the word of God. Broadcasting in over two hundred languages around the world. This time TWR invites you to join project Hannah for a walk to pray for peace in our homes and in our nation.”
Virginia Maina, National Coordinator , Project Hannah Kenya says , “The seven (7) kilometre Prayer Walk has been inspired by the need to strengthen and create awareness on the critical role played by women as peace builders and peace custodians in their homes, communities and country, particularly at this time when insecurity threatens to break a Kenya that just a few years back was referred to as ‘An Oasis of Peace in a troubled region.’
About Project Hannah Ministry
Project Hannah / Women of Hope is a global prayer ministry whose mission is to share the love of God in a tangible way by showing compassion and speaking hope to women who are facing challenges and suffering in different ways. This is done through ministry to prisoners, refugees, orphans, widows, abused women, HIV and aids patients and much more. Project Hannah also promotes awareness of women issues through radio programming, speaking in churches, women’s groups and ministries, conferences and other events.Other activities that project Hannah does include;
Radio Programming
Project Hannah uses radio to broadcast and speak hope and to encourage women through their signature women of hope programs translated in 70 languages in 120 countries.
Net working and awareness / Advocacy
Project Hannah brings women together from different walks of life to share, pray and get to know each other with a specific goal to encourage and spread hope. Also creates awareness regarding the plight of women
Prayer ministry
Prayer as the backbone and the main pillar of Project Hannah and Women of Hope program. The ministry main activity is to establish prayer groups in all the places and countries where it exists. Here in Kenya PH has begun about 237 prayer groups; 100 in Nairobi and a 137 in the coast region. PH develops monthly prayer calendars that shares specific prayer requests and up-to-date information on the plight of women in specific countries. This information is distributed to Project Hannah intercessors in 70 languages in 120 nations for concerted prayer effort.
Thank you. Project Hannah plans to establish a Hannah house in Nairobi and we would welcome well wishers to be part of this project so we can use it as a 24 hour prayer house as well as have a place where the very needy women of PH can be empowered with skills to help them generate some form of income to fend for their families.
Thank you Mary Mwendwa. God bless you, very informative article
