The 9th Pan-African Congress is set to unfold in the vibrant city of Lomé, Togo, from October 29 to November 2, 2024. It will be a moment to celebrate, reflect, and envision a future where Africa and its diaspora stand united in purpose and strength.

In a world where the echoes of history mingle with the aspirations of the future, the Pan-African spirit shines brightly as a beacon of unity, resilience, and progress.

The theme of this year’s Congress, “Renewal of Pan-Africanism and Africa’s Role in the Reform of Multilateral Institutions: Mobilizing Resources and Reinventing Itself to Act,” encapsulates the essence of the challenges and opportunities facing the continent in the 21st century. From the legacy of W.E.B. Du Bois to the Agenda 2063 of the African Union, the Congress draws on a rich tapestry of history and vision to chart a course toward a more empowered, united, and prosperous Africa.

His Excellency, Professor Robert Dussey, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Togo, Architect of the 9th Pan-African Congress.

At the heart of the Congress lies a commitment to redefining Pan-Africanism for the modern era, drawing on African values such as the Ubuntu Philosophy to foster greater unity and solidarity among the diverse peoples of the continent. Through discussions on education, economic development, and political empowerment, participants will explore innovative solutions and bold initiatives to propel Africa towards a brighter future.

One of the key pillars of the Congress is the active involvement of youth from Africa, African diasporas, and communities of African descent. By engaging the next generation in shaping the Pan-African narrative, Congress seeks to ensure that the voices of tomorrow are heard and valued in the decisions that will shape their future.

As we look ahead to the 9th Pan-African Congress in Lomé, let us embrace this moment as an opportunity to come together, learn from each other, and forge a path toward a more inclusive, equitable, and prosperous Africa. Let us stand united in our diversity, inspired by the spirit of Pan-Africanism, and committed to building a future where all Africans and people of African descent can thrive and flourish.

Join us on this journey of renewal and empowerment, as we gather in Lomé to celebrate our shared heritage, our common dreams, and our collective vision for a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can shape a future where Africa rises as a beacon of hope, strength, and unity for the world to see.
