Seven time Continental champions Kenya Pipeline Volleyball club , overwhelmed APR of Rwanda in straight sets(26-24,25-14,25-12) in their opening match of the 2017 Women’s Africa Club Championship in Mzali Hall in Tunisia on Friday.
The Pool C encounter saw the Japheth Munala coached side sweat to win the first set before comfortably taking the second set and the third set without a sweat.
This was a good start for the local champions who are seeking their eighth continental title.
Another Kenyan side in the Championship Prisons will play against record holders Al Ahly of Egypt in a Pool B fixture.
This will be a tough one for Prisons who are seeking their sixth title in the continental show-piece.
Organizers, Carthage defeated debutants Ndejje University in straight sets(25-8,25-19,25-14) in the opening match in Pool A.
The annual championship attracted 17 clubs.
