The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has waived the entrance fee for the national Under-17 boys team return leg of the second round Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) qualifiers against Cameroon set for this Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the Kasarani Stadium from 3pm EAT.
The move by FKF is aimed at rallying fans to turn out in large numbers and support the Rising Stars in a bid to support the newly formed team.
The team suffered a 7-0 defeat in their first leg match in Cameroon at the Stade de Bafoussam a couple of weeks ago.
A statement sent to media outlets said: “The match is very important to us despite the huge loss we suffered away in the first leg. But as I have said many times before this is a new team, barely two months old and we are looking to support it to the best of our ability.
“That is why we have decided to waive the entrance fee and let Kenyans from all walks of life come and support what is arguably the future of Kenyan football,” said FKF President Nick Mwendwa.
Cameroon were set to jet in the country at exactly 6pm local time, on Thursday, ahead of the weekend fixture.
