The 2017 August Elections to be held in Kenya will be interesting to look out for. Mainly not because there has been an increase of a number of candidates seeking to vie for the many posts but because the posts somehow look lucrative.
Pundits monitoring the elections closely have shown the main contention is not the presidential seat but the other posts. This has sent jitters among aspirants as was evidenced during the nominations where the temperature was all time high.
According to Independent, Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) data indicated the rise of the number of contestants. But drawing to concerns of lack of names of running mates for Presidential and Gubernatorial candidates.
IEBC has also warned due to this delays and some of the disputes still in court some of the candidates many not be on the list and ballot papers.
