Nairobi, Kenya: The General Elections for Kenya will be held on 9th August 2022. This comes after the announcement by Gazette Notice made by the Chairman of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission(IEBC), Wafula Chebukati.

In the notice released by IEBC was the first schedule comprising of 47 counties where Governors, Senators and Women Representatives are expected to vie. While the second schedule was the list of 290 Constituencies where Members of the National Assembly are expected to run. The third schedule was a list of 1449 County Assembly Wards where Members of the County Assembly will be contending.

Chebukati also warned candidates to desist from using the IEBC logo in pushing for Voter registration.

“The Commission has also noted a growing trend of aspirants using its logo on their campaign posters and billboards. This is an illegal act which contravenes the constitutional standing of the Commission as an independent, impartial and non partisan institution. The Commission calls for cessation of use of its logo in campaign related material” warned Chebukati.
