Nairobi, Kenya: The giant Norfolk hotel owned by the Saudi billionaire Prince Al Waleed Bin has closed it’s Kenya business citing COVID-19 economic harsh times.
The Fairmont group of hotels with shares belonging to the Saudi Prince posted a message to all it’s employees that business has stopped since the visitors mainly foreigners could not book into the hotel after all international flights were canceled.
The luxury resort hotel and resorts boast of five suites namely The 1937 suites, Deluxe rooms, Fairmont hotels Karura suites, and signature suites.
The owner of Kenya resort, Prince Al Waleed Bin had some corruption investigations by the Saudi authorities making most of his assets frozen but early last year the Authorities announced the Kenyan Norfolk branch will not be affected.
Sources said the hotel closed during the COVID19 pandemic and has since not been able to resume citing difficult business times due to the pandemic.
All staff have since been laid off.
